Can my item be engraved?

Yes. We engrave on the reverse of the steel medical alert plate.

Up to 3 lines with maximum of 25 characters per line

The engraving plate is there for the essential, critical information paramedics, first responders and potentially even members of the public or schools need in an emergency. In the event of an emergency, the universal medical alert symbol on the front of your bracelet will alert medics to vital information. The plate is easily flipped over to reveal the engraving.

We suggest you include:

  1. Your name
  2. Any CRITICAL medical conditions, allergies or drugs that might affect how you are treated in an emergency (such as blood thinners)
  3. An ICE contact number - preferably a mobile

ICE stands for 'In Case of Emergency'. Emergency Services are also trained to look for ICE contacts in your phone so make sure it's in there too. Both android and iPhones will allow access to ICE contacts even when the phones are locked.

Who is my bracelet named after?

Zachary Cope (1881 – 1974). A surgeon who redefined the acute abdomen Zachary Cope was a leading light in academic surgery and is best known for his volumes on acute abdominal emergencies. However, his interests were diverse, and he made significant contributions to other fields, particularly medical politics and history. In late middle age Cope gave valuable service to the Ministry of Health as chairman of committees which surveyed hospital facilities, medical manpower, and the training of auxiliaries, and he edited their influential reports between 1949 and 1952. He also compiled for the official Medical History of the Second World War the substantial volumes on Medicine and Surgery. This public work was acknowledged by the knighthood conferred in 1953. He died in Oxford on 28 December 1974 aged ninety-three.
